    Reading in the Junior School

The ability to read is a vital skill in being able to function in today's society. Reading enhances concentration, develops language skills and supports creativity. All too often, the barriers faced by children with difficulty reading outweigh their desire to read and prevent children from accessing other curriculum areas.  With this in mind, the Junior School is on a mission to enhance and engender a love of reading!

As part of the initiative, we will be replacing one CCA with an additional Guided Reading session throughout the school.  In the near future, we will be running a Reading Workshop for parents/carers and investing in a home learning reading scheme (further details to follow).
