    Friends of Brighton Twilight Picnic

    The Friends of Brighton are hosting a twilight picnic on Thursday 5th October from 4.30 - 6.30pm to enable the established Brighton family to welcome new families into the community. If any parents/carers would like to be involved in the organisation of the event please do not hesitate to get in touch with either Melanie Rackham ( or Kerry Bolger ( Any help is greatly appreciated.
    There will shortly be a flyer coming home with an RSVP slip so that we can get some indication as to how many people might attend, so please do look out for it. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible! 

    Instrumental Music Programme Year 1 - 13

    Our instrumental music program will be starting in Week 3 of this term. If you would like your child to receive lessons, a letter from the Director of Performing Arts, outlining the program, can be viewed here and a form can be downloaded here. These should be completed and handed in to the Performing Arts Department as soon as possible. 
    Please note that it is necessary to re-register for the coming academic year even if your child has taken lessons before.

    PE Kit

    The PE Department are looking forward to seeing your child participate in lessons and also the wide range of sporting ECAs that will be on offer in both the Junior and Senior School.  To enable your child to participate fully in all activities please ensure your child has the correct kit details of which can be found here

    Online College Library

    We are pleased to announce that searches for books in our libraries can be carried out online. A letter with instructions for Junior School Pupils can be read here and one for Senior School pupils can be read here

    Junior School CCAs

    We are delighted to inform you that the Junior School Co-Curricular Activities programme will commence the week beginning on Sunday 24th September. All pupils will participate in 3 CCAs each week. Please look through the brochure here and discuss the CCAs with your child. Your children will sign up for the CCAs in class on Sunday and you will be notified by the end of the week as to which CCAs your child will participate in. It is our aim to offer your children a wider range of activities and with this in mind we will be introducing new CCAs every 6 weeks. Please contact Mr. Bolger by email on should you require any further information. 

    Pre-Prep Workshops

    Parents are cordially invited to attend Pre-Prep and Prep Workshops in the Junior School Dining Room. These workshops will outline the philosophy of teaching and learning within the phase and provide information regarding the curriculum and home learning.  
    Year 1-2: Tuesday 26th September at 2.00pm
    Year 3-5: Wednesday 27th September at 2.00pm

    Pupil Council elections

    We would like to invite pupils in Year 2 to Year 5 to put themselves forward for the Pupil Council Elections. Videos of no more than 2 minutes should be made and sent to Ms Rackham by Sunday 25th September
    A letter has already been sent home to all parents, outlining the procedure.

    Year 8 Adventure Camp Trip 

    We are delighted to announce the Year 8 Challenging Adventure Camp trip. The camp will offer a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience outdoor, adventurous activities with their peer group, building confidence, resilience, teamwork, and character whilst in a controlled and safe environment. The trip will take place from Tuesday 31st of October to Friday 3rd of November 2017. Pupils will travel by bus from Brighton College Al Ain to the Challenging Adventure mountain centre in Ras Al Khaimah where we will take part in an array of outdoor activities. A letter from Mr Schooley and a Consent Form can be downloaded here which can be completed online and emailed back to Mr. Schooley at

    Senior School Musical auditions 

    If you have ever been interested in acting, singing, or dancing, come and try out for our Senior School Musical, Little Shop of Horrors! This exciting project is open to anyone in the Senior School and auditions are on Monday 25th September at 3:10pm in the College Theatre. Rehearsals will be split between choir/band and acting this term, and in the Spring Term, we will put everything together for a fantastic performance.
    There are also opportunities for backstage and technical roles for those of you who want to be involved, but prefer to be behind the scenes. You do not need to prepare any audition material as we will provide what you need.
