    National Day

Next Wednesday, the College will be holding celebrations for the UAE’s 46th National Day, with an array of colourful stalls, fascinating activities, vintage car displays, authentic food, surprise performances and much more. Admission to the event will be from 10.00am until 2pm and all children must be accompanied by an adult. We would encourage all to wear national dress, where possible and we look forward to celebrating with you! A poster can be viewed here.

    Winter gifts for support staff

As a community, we would like to show our thanks to the Security, cleaners and maintenance by presenting them with gifts, before the College closes for the Winter Break. We would like to encourage all pupils and their families to donate a small token of their appreciation for the work done by this team who keep our school clean, tidy and safe.
Senior School pupils can give donations to their House Tutors and Junior School pupils may hand gifts to Mrs Hassan, the Receptionist. The donations will then be passed on to Mrs Lin Brown, who is co-ordinating this collection. Gift bags for the support staff will then be assembled from these items and presented at the end of term.
A letter with more information and gifts ideas can be read here.

Any support that you can lend to this campaign is greatly appreciated and really helps to reinforce our emphasis on respecting and valuing all members of our College community.

    Winter Examinations Year 9, 10 & 12

The Winter Examinations for Year 9, 10 & 12 will be taking place over the next 2 weeks. The complete Examination timetables can be viewed here. Pupils should come into school with revision materials for the day and they must ensure they have the correct equipment for all exams (e.g. Calculator if required in a Mathematics exam).

    Mobile phones and slime

Please be reminded that while it is accepted that pupils may have a mobile phone in their possession during the school day, they may not use the phone for any purpose, for example text messaging, making calls, using the internet, or recording pictures or sound, unless they have clear and specific permission from a teacher for a reason that is acceptable to the teacher. It is also important to be reminded that that taking of photographs or recording of video or sound without the subject’s permission is illegal under UAE law. Your support in encouraging you children to observe these rules is greatly appreciated.

As a result of significant disruption to lessons we are banning slime and similar items from the Senior School. Please could you support this effort to maintain a productive working environment in the College.

    Lost Property

This term, we have amassed a huge amount of lost property. On Wednesday 6th December, we invite parents to come and claim any items of lost property belonging to their children. The items will be in the Girls’ Dining Halls from 8.00am and anything unclaimed will be given to charity. Please note that for Health & Safety reasons, lunch boxes containing food have been disposed of.

It would be very much appreciated if parents made sure that all items of clothing, water bottles and lunchboxes are clearly labelled in an effort to reduce property being misplaced, lost or taken by mistake.

    Taxi pickups

If your child takes a taxi home, please can you ensure that you have contacted the College to inform security of the taxi number so that their departure can be authorised. For their own safety, we are not able to allow pupils to leave in a taxi without this information.

    Outside play

Senior School boys will now be allowed to access the playing fields during the Lunch Break. Please note that for Health & Safety reasons, pupils will only be allowed on to the field if they have a named College hat and a full water bottle. We thank you for your support.
