    Brighton Breakfast

    GCSE pupils are hosting a Brighton breakfast on Monday 5th of February, as part of their GCSE Business course. The event will take place at Break time (9.50 – 10.10) am in the Girls’ Dining Hall and they are hoping for your support in order to make this project a success. The main objective is to raise money for the Red Crescent, and to challenge themselves. They would greatly appreciate your help in making their business idea come to life.
    If you wish to support them, please give your child/children a sum of money to enable them to purchase the goods sold at the Brighton Breakfast. For further enquiries, please contact Mr Jay Graham at


    School Photographers, Pret-a-Portrait, will be in College from the 19th-21st February to take individual and Junior School class photos for all pupils who have photographic consent. If you would like sibling photographs taken please contact the company directly to book a time slot, details can be found here. The photography sessions will take place in the Junior School Multi-Purpose hall and will be mixed sessions.
    Details of the online ordering system and payment will follow.

    Performing Arts update

    We are thrilled to announce that we have been able to add two new teachers to our instrumental programme specialising in Flute, Oboe, Saxophone and Voice. Lessons for these instruments are now available for pupils in Year 2-13 (Please note that we cannot offer any lessons to FS or Year 1 pupils)
    If you would be interested in your son/daughter starting on any of these instruments, more information can be found here, and our Instrumental Agreement regarding fees, terms and conditions can be found here. Please return the completed agreements to any member of the Performing Arts Department as soon as possible.

    Red Crescent charity collection

    A gentle reminder for parents and pupils to return any Red Crescent collection containers by Sunday 4th February. Containers may be returned to any of the Islamic Studies staff. We thank you for your support.

    JS Sports Days

    The Junior School and PE Department are pleased to invite you to celebrate your child’s development and skills in PE during their up-coming Sports Days.  The Sports Days will be held on the following dates
    FS2 & Year 1 - Thursday 15th February - 8.00am – 9.45am  BCAA Sports Hall and Girls’ Covered Court
    Year 2 & Year 3 - Thursday 15th February - 10.00am – 12.00pm  BCAA Sports Track and Field
    When you arrive, Security staff will direct you the location of your child’s Sports Day. All children will register as normal and then be taken to the Sports Hall by their class teacher. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit, that you apply sun cream to your child before school and ensure they have their hat and a full water bottle.  
    We look forward to welcoming you to your child’s Sports Day.

    FS2 Zoo Trip

    FS2 will be visiting the zoo on the Sunday 4th and Monday 5th February. Please ensure you have returned your child's form and made the necessary payments. Please note that all children will require packed lunch on the day of their visit. 

    Healthy Picnic

    On Tuesday 6th February, Year 3 will be hosting their 'Healthy Picnic in relation to their Science topic. The children will be investigating healthy diets and the importance of exercise, as well as preparing a range of savory dishes. Parents are cordially invited to attend the Picnic at 1.40pm in the Junior School Dining Room. After a short presentation by the children we will be moving outside so please bring a picnic blanket on the day. You are welcome to bring some 'healthy' snacks to share but please respect our no nut policy.  

    Celebration Afternoon

    The Pre-Prep and Prep Celebration Afternoon will take place on Wednesday 7th February between 14.00-14.40 in the Junior School. Parents are cordially invited to visit their children's classrooms to share all the learning that has taken place and listen to the children discuss their classwork and projects. We look forward to welcoming you to this very special event where you can see the results of their efforts over the half-term.

    Spring Term Prize-giving assemblies

    The Prize-Giving assemblies will take place on Wednesday 21st March. This occasion acknowledges the achievements of children who will have earned their Bronze or Silver Awards in the Spring Term.
    The Pre-Prep Prize Giving will take place between 1.00pm and 2.00pm and the Prep Prize Giving will take place between 3.00om and 4.00pm. Both assemblies will take place in the College Theatre. Parents of children who have earned their Bronze or Silver Award will receive an invitation closer to the date. We look forward to welcoming you to this celebration of your children's achievements.

    Senior School Notices


    ECAs - update

    Due to lack of attendance, Sunday Basketball and Tuesday Morning Fitness ECA with Mr Victor will not be running. Monday and Wednesday Fitness is still running and is open to boys and girls of all ages. Please note these are co-ed ECAs.

    *Year 11 & 13 Parent Consultation Meetings – rescheduled*

    The Consultation Meetings have been post-poned to Tuesday 6th February. A letter confirming the change has been sent home. 

    Year 6 Parent Consultation Meetings

    We invite parents of pupils in Year 6 to attend the Consultation Meetings from 4.30pm on Wednesday 14th February. A letter containing more information can be read here.

    Influenza virus: information

    Chewing gum

    Parents and pupils are politely advised that chewing gum and bubble gum are not permitted in College. This is in order to promote a cleaner environment, and a more conscious awareness with regards to dental and digestive health. Many thanks for supporting our efforts. 

    Young Scientist film awards 2018

    The aim of this competition is to produce a short movie (2min 30 sec) in which pupils follow a scientific method to answer their own hypothesis, using an experiment of their choice. This short movie is aimed at pupils in KS3, 4 & 5. 
    The best three videos submitted to the science department will be passed on to COBIS and the National Physical Laboratory of London and will appear on their YouTube Channel. The BCAA deadline is on the 18th of February. For more information, please visit and/or contact Mrs Edwards at
