Your Sixth Form years should be the best two years of your school life. There is the freedom to pursue subjects that really excite you. Our pupils achieve outstanding A-level results, meaning they have a wide range of university options available to them. This is due to the superb teaching they receive, and the way pupils encourage each other to aim high and be the best they can be.

A-levels are not the only way in which intellectual development is encouraged. We offer a range of trips to enhance learning as well as to assist with charity projects worldwide.

We aim to develop intellectually curious young adults who are prepared to play a full, active and positive role in society. You could find yourself taking a leading role in one of our eighty clubs, organising social and charity events, directing plays or leading pupil committees.

Our Sixth Formers set the tone for the school, with a wide array of leadership opportunities available. They can become Heads of School, Prefects, College Ambassadors, lead clubs, or mentor younger pupils. Training is provided in mentoring, which many find to be a rewarding experience.

Pupils are encouraged to extend their learning beyond the classroom by reading extensively to deepen their knowledge and cultivate intellectual curiosity. We explicitly teach study skills grounded in neuroscience to equip pupils with strategies for managing university-level workloads, ensuring they become confident, independent learners.

Brighton College is dedicated to being part of a kind and caring community that looks out to the local surroundings, as well as to national and international concerns. We help develop and support a culture in which pupils appreciate their responsibility towards other members of society, and we see ourselves as a part of society, not apart from it.

Our Sixth Form prefects and leadership teams are instrumental in organising and executing a variety of whole college events, including National Day, International Day, Year 6 and Sixth Form Day, Make a Difference Days, charity events, parents' evenings, open days and parent workshops.

Our Careers and Future Pathways Programme offers pupils a wide range of opportunities to explore their interests and discover new possibilities. All Sixth Form pupils take part in dedicated careers sessions, helping them connect their academic studies to real-world industries and experiences. This enriches the curriculum and equips them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for life beyond the classroom. Pupils benefit from initiatives such as Young Medics, Young Engineers, flight simulator programmes, visits from regional universities, and valuable work experience placements.

While the UK remains the most popular destination for our graduating pupils, we support applications to universities and colleges worldwide. Whether aiming for North America, Europe, Asia, or staying here in the Gulf, each pupil receives bespoke guidance throughout the process. Our full-time Futures Counsellor, supported by a team of experienced tutors and the broader Brighton College network, ensures every applicant is well informed and well prepared.

From Lower Sixth, pupils receive advice on making standout applications. In the Upper Sixth, we offer focused support with application writing, entrance exams, and interview preparation. The success of this programme is reflected in the range and quality of university destinations, and the impressive global presence of our alumni community.
